Benefit Events This Week
Don’t forget that there are a couple of benefit events going on this week. Starting today, Monday, March 4 from noon to five come on over to Playa de Oro (Sandi and Denny Flanagan’s place) for the annual Snarlin’ Cholla Baja race car fundraiser. Hosted by Sandi, Denny, Belinda Eastman and George Jackson, this event gives you a chance to get up close and personal with one of the Baja 250 race cars and it’s drivers. It’s also a lovely spot to enjoy a great cheeseburger and have a drink (pop, beer, margaritas, & mixed drinks). The event site is located on a bluff overlooking the Sea of Cortez.
On Thursday, it’s the annual Rotary Club Steak in Park. You’ll need to purchase tickets in advance for this event. Inquire at Sun Runner Mail. Don’t forget to bring extra money for the silent auction.
This coming Friday morning is the “contingency” parade of off-road race cars entered in the Baja 250. It’s always crowded. But, it’s a fun glimpse of the town when things are hopping! Many of the restaurants along the Malecon will be in full swing.
Saturday is the SCORE Baja 250 off-road race. There are some great spots to go watch the cars and the people. Ask around for details if you haven’t ever spectated at this event. Be prepared for heat and dust!
Enjoy San Felipe this week!
