Join One Billion Rising and the global community in making a resounding noise on Mother’s Day to bring back the 276 girls abducted by Boko Haram terrorists in Nigeria a month ago.
Yes, the situation in Nigeria, particularly in northern Nigeria is complicated. And, yes, the economic and social conditions under which people have to exists there–ironically one of the world’s richest exporters of oil–are deplorable. However, it is no excuse to wage a male inspired religious-political war using young girls, whose families believe that girls deserve a Western education, as the political football.
Please join One Billion Rising to rise, dance, and make a noise to free these victims of male oppression. Women and girls are not commodities to be bartered with and traded for sex.
