Community V-Day Brunch Brings Out Good Group

group.small1This year’s Las Hermanas del Desierto Valentine’s Day Brunch was well attended by some 25 women from the San Felipe area.  The weather was perfect for an outdoor event: periods of overcast turning to full sunshine and temps in the mid 70’s. There were a few women friends who couldn’t make it this year—you know who you are, and, you were missed!

LVS’s Sharron and Lynda set up the bar and served their famous Canadian-style “bloody Caesars.” MUCHAS GRACIAS, gals!

lineupfoodThe brunch spread included pancakes, bacon, corn bread, fruit salad, Meg’s famous quiche, apple-walnut bread, and Lisbeth’s heart-stopping oven baked French toast. Big thank you to all the gals from LVS an LVN (and guests) for the great brunch: Liz, Kathy, Carol, Jayna, Meg, Lisbeth, Donna, Karen, and Pamelid. It is doubtful that anyone went away from the table hungry. Good job North and South LV-EDR neighborhoods!

This year’s brunch also marked the initiation of Lisbeth and Linda’s new screen room.  Great shade and a comfortable place to escape the flies!

havingadrinkSusan and Alice set up their “No-Bad-Days” T-shirt concession for all of us to peruse before brunch.  Great bargain basement prices, I might add!  Most of the proceeds will go to help the San Felipe women’s rowing team and V.I.V.A., the SF dog rescue/spay/neuter program.

Once again, our community V-day brunch was a wonderful chance to get together, relax, and catch-up as the 2014-2015 winter season begins its downward swing.

Thanks everyone, for making it so special!
